Are you ready
for this one? For a while there I wanted to keep this a huge secret but now that
Rusty and I have made it, we feel that it is really a miracle that we are together.
Rusty and I met on AOL! Yes that is America On Line. Rusty was
stationed in Cuba at the time but was attending meetings in Washington D.C. I was
living in Maryland and was just introduced to the internet (thanks, Dad!).
We instant messaged each other for a while getting aquainted, sending pictures, and
just talking. Both of us being sceptical of the other while thinking that the whole
thing was just crazy.
Rusty told me that he was only in town for another 3 days and he wanted to meet
me. I was relucant to meet with him so he asked if he could at least call me.
I agreed. That following day we talked for hours and I really felt like we just
clicked.
We both decided that the following day we would actually meet for a wonderful first
date. Little did we know that a year and half later we would be moving to Florida
and planning the rest of our lives together... |
